The OregonMetro website hosts a plethora of information free to the public on how to get around the city by bike, as well as a $9 waterproof map, and a smart phone app.
Car-sharing started in Portland and is still active today. Currently "Getaround" is a study that is measuring the benefits of peer to peer car sharing. With Getaround you register you car on the system, or rent a car from the system and share rides with people who are registered in your neighborhood. EcoShuttle is a 100% biodiesel commuter shuttle service in Portland that is focused toward larger events and gathering. For a fee you get a shuttle and a driver to move your party around, while supporting the environment.
